I am currently choosing between Cal Poly SLO and SDSU. At SLO i was accepted in the Hospitality and Tourism program but my true desire is to major in Business with a minor in Hospitality and Tourism(I am not interested in getting a degree in Hospitality and Tourism). I talked to many people when I visited SLO and ALL of them said that it’s not as hard to switch majors as everyone says it is and It shouldn’t stop me from attending the school. At SDSU I am accepted into the business - marketing program. I know Cal Poly SLO has a better overall reputation but SDSU has a great buisness program and is a great town for what I want to do with my life. I like the city of San Diego way more than the city of SLO. Also, I’m a very social girl who loves to party but I want to take my education seriously and still have fun, but not TOO much fun.
I would say both SLO and SDSU have excellent business programs. Since you got the direct admit into the Business program at SDSU, I would go there.
Switching majors at SLO is not as difficult as many people state, but you still have a list of requirements you need to fulfill before switching. Also if your MCA score was not high enough to get you into the business school as a Freshman in the first place along switching up from one college (College of Ag) to another college (College of Business) may impact your chances to switch.

Not trying to deter you, but if you haven’t visited either campus, definitely plan a visit. You want a school that fulfills your goals academically and socially. Both schools are great options.
