I was given $5,500 Subsidized and $6,410 Unsubsidized
Subsidized means the Gov’t will make your loan payment every month while you’re in school but it’s only the interest they’re paying. You will still have to pay the full amount of the loan. They will keep making payments for 6 months after you graduate so you can find a job. Then it’s all yours from that point.
Unsubsidized means you will have to make your loan payment on your own without help including during school.
Still have no admissions update. No determination. Are others still waiting?

There’s a possibility that they’re still admitting some students. SDSU didn’t notify me of my acceptance until just a couple of days ago. I was 100% sure I was getting rejected. Almost everyone on the SDSU transfer thread had been notified of their decision earlier this month. A few other students were admitted a couple of days ago as well.

It is my understanding from CP Financial Aid that Cal Grants wont post until July. If you filed FAFSA and meet the income guidelines you may still qualify for about $5,702 for Cal State under Cal Grant A.
There is also a Middle Class Scholarship that would post in July.

we are still waiting for an answer… this is just simply soo bad… to make us wait weeks for rejection? Early answers were sent since March 4 through 14, then many waitlist posts, but no rejection at all?
!! its so rude to keep us waiting up until the last week of the month. why can’t they just send the rejection letters instead of keeping us waiting? I honestly don’t even see a point to that.
I agree. If they already rejected us, why wait. It’s very frustrating. Any chance we are on the bubble and they are waiting to see what early returns are like? I don’t have the energy to go through old threads to see if people got accepted at the end of March and April. Just sad.
The outbreak is making it tremendously difficult to forecast uptake rates from offers of admission, so they are likely staggering acceptances from least to most competitive and will adjust their acceptance rate accordingly.
Just read today that even the most selective schools are increasing their raw acceptance rates from 2-6% because they can’t account for people that will take gap years, off-cycle internships, drop out, etc. Or if campus will even be open by August…
The logic behind this is that students with lower GPAs, no related work experience, etc will take whatever they can get, whereas students that have a shot at the Ivies or UCLA/Cal/Stanford/USC will hold out until the last second to confirm admission and force the school to over-enroll.
