Calling All Prep School Wanabees!

oh ok so you're in the agony with me oh, but right you go to boarding school so of course you had school. so do you like miss. porter's??? ive heard about it but not too much about it.

no school for me. my school is so easy i could probably go only three days a week and not have too bad a workload.
Im betting you dont need fa, laurencville?

Congrats, elven queen on getting the lead in your play.

ugh, i hate being siiiiiickkkkkk. what worse is that i cant wait for march 10! aRE THERE a lot of sick bugs at ms. porters? I know you get suspended or put on probation or whatever if you were for more than 4 days while missing school at choate

I didn't the lead in the play ( you must have read the wrong post) I definitely don't do acting. Ms. Porter's is probably one of the best decisions I ever made. Everyone here is so much fun and so friendly. And I'm still challenged.
The sick bugs have been pretty bad this year b/c the school was denied the flu shot ( last week was the height of bad). They actually ran out of bed in the health center and banned sleepovers for a weekend so people could recover. But if you miss so many days cuz of sickness you just call the health center (or go there if you're a boarder) and they excuse you from class. (never would you be punished for sickness. the punishment is catching up).

If i goto prep school next year i am going to live on immunity boosting veggies...
sorry about misreading that thing

haha, yeah that was me who said the thing about the lead in the play, I PERFORM TOMORROW AHHH!! scared, then lacrosse preseason starts which is also pretty nerve wrecking...ok...where did you hear that thing about choate suspending you for being sick!?! thats crazy! its not like its your fault if you get sick!! hope its a rumor. what does fa mean? "i'm betting you dont need fa, laurencville?" i dont get that, so are ya'll going anywhere for spring break? just my luck im far far away on vacation march tenth JOY!

yay! break a leg!

My tour guide said they put you on probation and make sure you dont do any ec's til; your on track after being sick for more than 4 days.

fa, is short for financial aid. i detest that word and my dependance on it.

spring break is sooooooooo far away. i think it's like the 20something of march.I dont knowwhat i'm doing or where i'm going.

please let me into choate or westover. please, plz, plz god.

did anyone hear read the secret life of bees? it's a beautiful story

hey sorry ive been busy, the play was awesome, we did really well. no i havent read that book ive heard its good though. tonight im going to see this speaker named Ben Carson, his autobiography called "Gifted Hands" is AMAZing, if you are looking for a good read that is...

no im not applying for fa, but the costs for these schools are ridiculously expensive!

cool. What exactly is gifted hands about?

You're lucky you dont need fa. Your dad is completely on board with spending 30,000+? I think my dad would rather die.

Have you read any shakespeare? i've read none, but should i ? I started reading the tempest, but didn't get past the first few pages.

i mean, my dads pretty cool with the costs and we can manage, but i still feel kinda guilty about it.

gifted hands is ben carson's autobiography (by the way he was an AWESOME speaker last night) he is an african american boy who grew up in poverty in detroit and pushed himself to his max and grew up to be the greatest neurosurgeon in the world. pretty amazing huh?

as for shakespeare, ive read "Much ado about Nothing" its a little hard to understand, but its very very funny. I think it would be a little bit easier than the tempest, is a comedy/love story. but i havent read any of his other works, we most certainly will in high school if we both go to choate next year!

by the way 13 DAYS TILL WE FIND OUT WHERE WE GOT IN!!!!

A few more days for me in ca.

I just got back from tutoring a kid negative exponents. I wish i had started tutoring before i sent in my apps.

you tutor, thats pretty cool! how'd you get involved? what grade is the kid in

when i can get a job, i take it. funny, people only seem to need help in math.id just as soon teach science or english.

I kind of started recently doing it more, but i've been doing it on and off since the 6th grade. In the 7th grade i taught a lot of little kids the alphabet and so on but recently, a few 8th graders asked me to tutor them in algebra so they could stay in all-honors classes. The kid was in the 7th grade and my mom got me the job. i kind of freelance.

i highly recommend tutoring. it pays really well.

prep schools are overrated.

and you would know that because....?

in my particular area they are, at least. i know from countless first-hands accounts from the kids themselves, wishing they'd gone to the public schools. but it depends on where you live: you may have exceptional prep schools but only so-so public schools. sorry i should've expanded before.
