Prompt:Does questioning makes a society stronger?

Essay:
Questioning authority helps to brighten up a society and develops a sense of accountability in the authority that the people they are supposed to serve are keeping a vigilent eye on them. This may narrow down the chances of corruption and make society a better place. The American Revolution and the great novel,"The night Thoreuo spent in jail" are remarkable examples to support this thesis.
The American Revolution was the upheaval during the last half of 18th century in which thirteen colonies of North America joined together to break free from british empire and become U.S.A. .The revolution was the result of a series of social, political and intellectual transformations in early America. This upheaval is an outstanding example of courage and how far a society can and should go when it comes to its liberty and rights.
The night Thoreuo spent in jail is an amazing novel by Edwin lee and Jerome Lawrence. The protagonist,Henry was jailed for refusing to pay the toll tax on the ground that the money could be used to pay for the Mexican-American war which he opposed. This shows the bravery with which one should express his opinion and question authority if something is going against the will of society.
Thus,it should always be remembered that authority is responsible for the welfare and prosperity of society and if something goes against that society can follow the example of American Revolution and Henry Thoreuo.
