Can I be a sophomore?

Lets see... I just turned 18 and by end of my freshman year, due to some circumstances, I will have about 53 college credits (not including IB) completed. Since I plan to graduate in four years, as opposed to three, will any school that I am accepted to allow me to enroll as a sophomore, even though I will have nearly as many credits as a junior?

All schools have their own policies on this.

Be advised that some schools do not disclose the credits that they will accept until after you are enrolled.

Do not assume that the school that you transfer to will accept your credits. Many students are shocked at how few credits the transferring school will accept (absent a specific transfer agreement). There may also be restrictions on transfer credits for required courses or courses in the major or minor.
