Can i get around the parking permit policy?

<p>i just bought a new car, and if i decide to go to davis, as a freshman, is there any way i can make this work?</p>

<p>Have someone smash your leg with a sledgehammer so you can get a handicap permit.</p>

<p>By working a job or paid internship on campus I believe you can get a permit. Otherwise you will need to park on the street which can be tricky on the weekdays.</p>

<p>The parking situation is pretty stupid at the dorms. There's so much open parking, but nobody can really get a parking permit. And they're darn expensive too.</p>

<p>I think you will be able to buy a parking permit. I'm not sure of the price but I'm guessing they are in the neighborhood of $300-500.</p>

<p>Collegemom16, it seems like you're a student at UCD. Are you posing as a student's mom? Are you really a student there or what? You seem to know more about UCD than school officials do.</p>

<p>Nope nate cali, I'm a real live mom of a freshman girl at UCD. I have a junior son who is also in the college process. We are heading out to Cal Poly tomorrow to look. :)</p>

<p>PS Nate, Tercero has free parking on weekends in their lot, and Cuarto has lots of parking along side the street which is available year-round, but it usually gets really packed when people realize they can bring their cars. As far as getting a permit, you cannot get a permit unless you have an internship etc, on campus. So in your case, you'd be able to get a permit and park right outside the dorms, in the dorm parking lot.</p>
