Can i get in and how hard will it be to get financial aid/scholarships?

NOTE: I am a California resident
GPA: 3.96 UW, 4.167 W
SAT: 2250
ACT: didn’t take
AP exams: 5 Bio, 5 Psych, 5 English Lang., 4 Environmental Sci.

I also play varsity football/rugby (and some jv sports soph year, etc.), have plenty of volunteer hours with church, Peer Counseling, etc., and I also have a job if that counts for anything.

I’m also korean if that matters.

You are a very strong candidate but, the school is so competitive, no one is assured admission. Be sure to apply elsewhere.

You did not include your intended major, as Cal Poly admits by major only. Your stats can be a reach for some engineering majors (CS) or it could be an easy comfort for others. Overall stats for the 2015 freshman profile are here:

However, note there are big differences within the engineering school between various majors, with CS the most competitive.

Note, CalPoly uses SAT 1600 and has a very specific algorithm for computing the weighted grade, that is different from the one used by the UC system. Good luck.

You look like a competitive applicant, but much will depend upon your intended major since many of the engineering majors have acceptance rates of <10%. SLO gives some merit aid but most aid would be need based. What is your family’s EFC? Do you qualify for Cal Grants? How much will you need? SLO cost of attendance is approximately $25K/year for an in-state applicant.
