I attend Arizona State University as a computer science major. This fall I will be entering my final year and will graduate with a BS and MS, and would like to go to law school in 2012.

My stats:

So far I have finished 145 ASU credits with a 4.0 GPA

BUT, I started out poorly with 32 community college credits with a 2.7.

Over two summers I took 35 easy community college credits just to try to bring up my GPA.

So I'm currently at 212 credits with a 3.8 GPA.

LSAT score was 174.

I'm currently thinking about all of the schools except Yale and Stanford, and will probably apply to 5 schools.

Are there any top schools, other than the two I mentioned, that I shouldn't bother applying to?

You should still apply to YS (espeically S) and see what happens. If your GPA is 3.80 then you should get in CCN and on down.

With an LSAT of 174 and a GPA of 3.8, you have a good shot at all of the top law schools. Good luck!

I think you should apply to Yale and Standford as well as the rest.

from a 2.7 gpa from a community college to a 4.0 from ASU with a 174 LSAT, you may be able to write a very interesting and compelling personal statement.
go for it- apply to Yale and stanford too.
your basic stats are golden. I think you have a shot at all of the T-6’s and may get some nice scholarship offers from some of these schools. You may want to apply to a few more schools as you might get some scholarship offers you can’t refuse.
