Can someone recommend me fantasy books?

I want to read over the summer a couple of fantasy (midevil or anything amazing) to improve my reading skills for the SAT. I rarely ever read books unless its in class, and I would like to get into it. I want to try reading something that might challange me a bit.

Lord of the Rings is fantasy.

Just hit up your local Barnes and Noble or library or something similar and go to YA Fiction. Not super challenging reads, but if you read enough of them it truly does help your vocabulary skills. Personal reccomendations are Kristin Cashore, Megan Spooner, and Cinda Williams Chima. I do hope that’s what you’re looking for. And ^LOTR is a fabulous trilogy.

For high level vocab, you should read classics, like Charles Dickens.(read classics for fun so probably not the best person to ask). if you want to build a love for reading, just read things you enjoy. I’m reading The Mortal Instruments now. My favorite series, Ender’s Game, is pretty good for vocabulary building. LOTR is good!

TLDR if you want to start building up a love for reading, don’t worry that much about hard vocabulary because it’ll turn you off from the book. My favorite books:
Ender’s Game(and sequels <3)
Artemis Fowl/Percy Jackson/Maximum Ride(by James Patterson) <-more like middle school books but so much fun, love them.
Blockbusters like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games
Charles Dickens
Ray Bradbury
Faust
