History has shown us that liberty is not a guarnteed , natural possession.The great landmarks of liberty, such as American Bill of Rights and the Emancipation Proclamation, were all gained only through the sacrifices of many visionaries and patriots. We should be ever mindful that freedom, if we are to perserve it, must be safeguarded with our lives.
Assignment: Do you believe that one should sacrifice life for liberty?
Liberty is supposedly a right, however, many tyrants usurped people’s liberty away from them.This urged people to fight and to sacrifice lives inorder to gain their freedom back. I agree with the concept of sacrificing lives for liberty beacuse these people who lost their freedom are either left with no rights and no control over their lives or are being mercilessly tortured till death.
Americans were a great example of people who completely lost control over their lives and their wages to the British people. When they felt that they have completely lost their rights to the Britons, Americans rose againts them in a series of battles where thousands died an honorable death just to serve a noble cause with the aim of giving freedom to many generations to come.
A second example of people who lost their freedom and we're treated harshly and tortured to death is the slaves. Fighting back againt slave traders was crucial because slaves would have no say in the hours they worked or even the type of work they did. They fought back and again thousands of slaves were held captives and were tortured severely by slave owners. At the end, this movement and the deaths of all these slaves made slavery illegal, thus, giving prople the freedom and the right to learn, work and basically live.
To conclude, I firmly believe in fighting back when necessary and i believe the lives sacrificed for liberty are not wasted and will never go in vain. As long as people are willing to die for their children to live peacefully and have the ability to pratice their rightds entirely, then this is something that should be done.
