what’s your intended major?

Undecided.
Secondary Education maybe.

… But certainly not engineering.

Probably goes something like this…

I would think UMN would be easier than FSU since OP is in-state and FSU has slightly higher average scores (though I don’t know the acceptance %).

Isn’t Madison harder than Illinois?

I’d think that since UIUC Accepts 70% of applicants, and the OOS tuition is so high, that getting into UIUC OOS is not that hard.

UIUC accepts less then 50% of its applicants, it has an average ACT of 29, for some colleges like Engineering and LAS its average is above 30. Wisconsin accepts 56% of applicants, average ACT around 27-28. These stats are both taken from respective schools websites. I live next to UIUCs campus and have a parent working there for the last 12 yrs. UIUC is especially difficult for OOS students which I’d say admission may get as selective as 30-40%. OOS at wisconsin is slightly easier. Also, MN counts as instate at Wisconsin, which makes it significantly easier for the OP to get into.

funployee is spot on.

SmallCollegesFTW, UIUC accepts 70% of it’s applicants. You have no idea what you’re talking about. It may have gone down into the upper 60’s last year, but that’s still high.
And some of the schools at UIUC are not very competitive for freshman admission.

from hardest to easiest

This UIUC think is bothering me. Pierre had it closest to what I’d think it would be.

According to PrincetonReview 2008 College Handbook:

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
65% of applicants Admitted
Mid 50% Test Scores:
SAT Critical Reading: 540-670
SAT Math: 620-740
ACT Composite: 25-30 (I’ve never seen anything as low as 25 on CC)
Rank in Top Quarter: 96%
Rank in top 10th: 55%
Out of state: 7%
Extra Curricular Activities Important.

^^^ Doesn’t seem too terribly hard.

anything outside of Business and Engineering is a breeze for Illinois

Florida State is actually harder to get in than it’s schools reputation may imply

idk y indiana university is easy to get into while it has good business program ?

Because no one wants to be in Indiana

I’m not sure why people telling you that a certain school has competitive admissions would bother you at all. I like to think better safe than sorry, respect a school “at least” 'til you get into it, but hey that’s just me. Meh, think what you like.

Keep telling yourself that :)
