The other school that gave me 55k/year financial aid is Bard College. They’re not necessarily on par with American and just generally have much more money to give to students I assume, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
I wrote to Pace and they have agreed to increase my financial aid award only by $1000 which doesn’t really help.
Pick the college where you think you will have the better experience, not the city where you want to live. You can move to the city you like after college.
City is a huge part of experience for me but I understand what you’re saying.
Bard is on par with Pace and probably even American…I’d go with Bard for sure. It’s just a few hours to NYC. Very artsy.
I’ve heard from some people at AU that they got 14k more in financial aid after appeal, some also got even accepted after appeal. There’s always hope.
Bard is a good school but I only applied there in case I decide to stay close to home due to my illness and if I don’t get in anywhere else.
