Career aspirations

Well the possible professions that lie ahead of me are: Physician, pharmacist, optometrist, actuary, applied mathematician, pure mathematician, and engineer.

my 4 person family lives in silicon valley with $160k income
and even then isn't much considering cost of living/housing prices
and with rising college tuitions, you really need to make over 100k to live comfortably here

I would like to be a pharmacist. Im doing a double major in philosophy and comparative literature right now and a minor in biological sciences. i currently work as a pharmacist technician and am 2 biology classes away from being done with the prepharmacy coursework. Im debating where to go to finish the philosophy and comp lit. I hear UCIrvine is a great place but I hate that it is a commuter school. Maybe UCSD or UCLA. I'd love to get into Cal but I think im too old. lol

My friend in grad school is a pharmacist
He is starting at ~120k/year with bonus
Not too shabby; only problem is there isn't much room to improve unless you be one of the heads of the company

Cal doesn't discriminate based on age (nor anything else).

There is actually at least one non-traditional student/married/mother who posts on this forum and currently attends Cal.

And when I attended a S.California Cal event last October, a 40-something year old man who currently attends Cal as an undergrad spoke to our group. Apparently he attends Cal along with his 18 year old son. It was very inspirational!
