^ Mannnn this is making me nervous!!! T_T
A friend of mine applied to all the CMU schools
I applied to HSS and their school of science.
At least I’d be able to know when I’m going to get my letters.
Hopefully an acceptance but idk!!! OMG OMG OMG. I am freaking out.
At least I’ll know that I’ll likely get online first. But how long does it take for
rejection letters?

So the letters are likely in the mail by now.

So are ALL decisions mailed i.e acceptances, rejections and waitlisted students? Have they done this before? I thought only acceptance packages were mailed?

Does CMU waitlist RD applicants? I did the SAMS program this summer and this is absolutely my dream school, but my GPA and SAT scores are definitely not high enough for an automatic acceptance. Someone please let me know, I’m freaking out! :(

^^According to a comment on the Facebook page, all decisions were mailed today.
^From previous years, they do waitlist RD applicants. There is a priority waitlist (for applicants who weren’t admitted to any of CMU’s schools) and a regular waitlist (for applicants who were admitted to at least one of CMU’s schools but not to another).

CMU is my top (realistic) choice. I want Monday to come faster. xP

I’m seriously praying for an acceptance. I know it’s a long-shot but I want to go to CMU so bad! I wish I had applied ED now.

@energize, how does the regular wait list work? Are we only placed on it if we want to go to a school we were waitlisted on? Or are we automatically put onto it?

So I live relatively close to Pittsburgh (i live 1 hour away from philadelphia center city) and I just got my mail. I didn’t get anything from CMU, so I’ll have to wait until monday.

Ugh…

compulsive gamer, here’s the way it worked a few years ago. Two of my son’s friends were accepted from it, and attend CMU now. You aren’t automatically put onto it, but you can be put on it if you want to. They also allow you to get on the wait list for schools other that what you initially applied for. They definitely utilize their wait list.

I didn’t get anything in the mail today and I live two hours away from Cmu. Guess I’ll find out monday!

I’m hoping to find out on Monday as well! My CMU “journey” has definitely been a weird one. Initially, I considered applying EDI to CMU after having visited twice and interviewed, but I ultimately decided not to, instead applying RD. And then I mentally crossed CMU off my list because of its reputation relative to financial aid (low income/small efc). Since decisions were coming out soon, I decided to check what my aid package would look like if I were to get accepted via the net price calculator. Although these things can be inaccurate, if the aid is anywhere near what the net price calculator is projecting, then CMU is definitely feasible. Now that CMU isn’t a financial crossoff, I’m 1000 times more nervous for Monday and decisions!

monday monday monday monday
so nervewrecking

Guys, word of advice. If/when you get accepted, DON’T WAIT UNTIL CLOSE TO THE DEADLINE TO SEND YOUR DEPOSIT.

All I heard my freshmen year was how this or that person hates their dorm (normally people on the hill) and they ended up there because they sent their deposit late and didn’t get into the dorm they wanted.

thanks for the advice!! = )

I think it’s safe to say this is the first time i’ve ever been excited for a Monday

I see a lot of people posting their decisions. Are the decisions out online already? Because I have been checking my account and I do not see any changes.

It’s probably just because some people (who likely live relatively close to Pittsburgh) got their decisions in the mail today. They haven’t appeared online yet.

How were we supposed to ‘opt’ for the UPS option? :S. Confused.

Does anyone have any new item in the column “Admission Documents Sent”?
Nothing changed on mine…wondering whether they have sent out the letters

Im pretty sure I faxed my request form for DHL delivery(im international student) while there’s no signs on the account that show they have received it or not…==

I think once a guy asked in CMU office of admissions Facebook page, and he got the form to opt for UPS.
