"Carolina Crossroads"

I got this email today about this program at UNC. Is this a mass email they send to everyone or is it something different?

I got it.... seven times.... i love glitches sometimes :)

ha i beat you, i got it 10

It says "outstanding prospective students" so i dont know if theyre saying that all prospective students are outstanding or if its just the top whatever amount.

lol
rock on nct3!

Hahah, I got it six times. That's so weird that not only did they oversend it ... but they were inconsistent with how many times they oversent it. How does that work? And I wonder if everyone got it. For some reason I laughed outloud though when I checked my inbox only for 6 of the same subjects to pop up.

Also, nct3, they probably sent it to you 10 times because they like-like you!! Hooray.

I got it too--6 times!! Don't know about how selective it is. Sometimes I get confused with Carolina, they seem to have almost too much stuff going on. Carolina Explore, Carolina Connect, Carolina Crossroads....etc....chat rooms for students, chats for parents...between me and my friends, there is just a ton of invites. It just seems a little over the top to me. I welcome the devil's advocate argument from someone out there. Maybe this is good for Carolina, maybe not? Too showy and Las Vegas style to me. I know I'll get some flack for this statement, but hey, it's out there.

I was accepted EA and didn't get the e-mail. Is that a bad sign?

I just got another 8 copies of it. Here, mbogtob, you can have one of mine. Haha.

I think it must be kind of selective, because it says "most outstanding prospective students". But maybe not.

Probably not. They might not be done sending the invites out, either. I just got six more. I got a scholarship and wasn't invited to all of the events (like Carolina Connect), so don't worry about it!

And as for all the events they have, I don't know, at all the events I've gone to I had some warm fuzzies. I think it's good for a school to show interest in its students rather than appearing as some iron fortress that isn't concerned with whether or not you want to go here. And it's also probably a strategy to keep their yields high. I know it's helped sell UNC to me.

Are the people who got the e-mails all from North Carolina?

No, I'm OOS (KS), accepted EA.

wow, just got back on my computer and saw that i got 7 more. haha, I hope I keep getting them bc they like me, cloying. Anyways, don't take it as a bad sign that you didn't get one mbogtob. After all, you've already been accepted, and, like cloying, I got a small scholarship and I wasn't invited to any of the previous events (like scholars day or whatever that was called).

Muahahahahah, I got 17 copies... they must really like me :). Although they only gave me a small scholarship :(.

I didnt get it, I guess it is for accepted students EA?

ah, I got it 13 times, I guess I don't win here. (high five on the small scholarships, though, I got one too)

I'm not gonna go to it. I'm also not going to go to Chapel Hill. Sense a connection?

umm, is this for people whove already gotten in or for peopel who applied RD? cuz i applied RD and didnt get one...

Just EA accepted kids. This is when UNC puts on the hard sell.

I got the invite and I'm from OOS. UNC is the only school so far that has not invited me to be in the honors program or offered me a scholarship. I guess I should be happy they admitted me since I'm OOS.

Our S got an invite for CC on 4/12. Is this one of several they have done? He had coincidentally been scheduled for an overnight the night before. Hasn't been invited to any other events though. Was there a previous one and was it worth it?
