Anyone think that CC is full of people who lie about their stats? Anyone think that we can trust CC at all? o.o Discuss please, curious to know your responses :)

Lies. All of it.

I wonder if people lie sometimes, or maybe exaggerated. But I don’t know or care.

You’d have to be a sad person to lie about your stats online. Most of the people who come to this site aren’t that pathetic, so I don’t think that there are too many of those.

pretty much everyone beefs up their stats on here. most people aren’t ■■■■■■ though, they just want to sound a little more accomplished than they are. I’ve never posted stats or anything though.

Way to get 'em! Keep the speculative generalizations rolling.

Some people might make things up, but if lying on an anonymous college forum is what they need to feel good about themselves, then their self-confidence is in such a bad way that they shouldn’t be attacked for it. However, it’s fairly cynical to think most people lie on here about things they’ve done or achieved.

I DO take AP Naptime. I’m not lying.

If anything, most people will attempt to exaggerate the significance of a particular activity they’re involved in. Like “founder of X club”. My friend, a recent graduate, won a local scholarship for starting “Native American Club” at my school (he’s 1/4 Navajo). We basically went canoeing a couple times and built a teepee in an abandoned corner of a nature preserve. Oh, and we watched Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee while eating bison burger’s at my friends mansion. That’s about all the club did all year.

^ lol That’s awesome.

I suspect that silverturtle is secretly a 2390er. I don’t think we should listen to anything he says.

No, but sometimes I wonder if you’re all just figments of my imagination and I’m really an alien…

^^^^ I want to join that club.

I’m honest Abe Lincoln, doing good through my honest ways.

Yea I lie about my stats. I subtract 100 points from each section to make others feel better. :)

^ Even in your username?

Yuppppppppp

I’ve never lied on CC, though I guess I don’t have much yet to lie about
But honestly, who would lie on a internet forum where nobody knows who you are? I don’t get it. It would make me feel worse to make up a bunch of stuff because I would know for myself that it’s not true…

Lies make baby jesus cry.

^^ That’s what I think too. Guilty conscience. Actually I would think that people lie because we don’t know each other. Anyway, some people in my school just think that CC is a complete joke because of that reason and that we’re all strangers.

Contrary to your belief, an anonymous forum actually encourages lying. Here, you can make up anything about yourself without fearing the repercussions of being caught.
