Hey guys,

I am currently in my second year at a CCC and am currently applying to transfer to UCLA for Fall 2014. My intended major is Polisci. Here are my stats..

UC GPA: 3.88 (I have all A's right now, so if I maintain it will go up to a 3.93)
IGETC: Will be completed by Spring 2014
Major Requiremets: Will be done by Spring (the ones offered by my school)
Major GPA: 4.0
EC's: I have a part time job, 150 + volunteer hours at a hospital, and am a member of a few clubs on campus. I don't really have any specific EC's that coincide with polisci...

This semester I am 100% sure I will get an A in all my classes except for a 5 unit pre-calc class I am taking. I have a 92 right now but if it were to somehow drop to a B by the end of the semester my UC GPA would drop to a 3.84 (still competitive for Polisci).

Here are the requirements for Polisci at UCLA:

Complete at least four of the following courses:
introduction to political theory
international relations/world politics
introduction to American government/politics [1]
introduction to comparative politics [1]
politics and strategy

and one course in statistics

Only three courses at my school (International relations, Intro to Gov, and Comparative politics) coincide with UCLA. I took elementary statistics but for some reason it does not match up with UCLA's Stats. Assist says "At minimum, you should complete three preparatory courses by the spring term prior to transfer." I will have atleast 3 of the major prep classes done by Spring..

My question is, will I be at a disadvantage due to my school not having all the major prep classes? Should I try to take a 4th poli-sci class and the stats class somewhere else to be more competitive (it would have to be online, there are no other CC's near me), or do you think that completing 3 prep courses (the minimum) will keep me ok? I would really appreciate the advice, thank you!
