cell phone plan

people who are currently in vanderbilt, wut is ur opinion on cell phone plans, cingular tmobile verizon or SPRINT (which is receommended by vanderbilt) ..??? tkz alot

I have Verizon and I've been happy with it. I honestly don't know anyone who has Sprint.

I never really thought about it but I guess everyone keeps their home area codes... that must be weird

One child got Sprint after arriving on campus and service was okay, although he switched to Verizon after graduation. Other child is on Cingular family plan with me and has no real problems this year. However, during freshman year she would often call on her way back to the dorm after her last class. Inevitably she would lose service as she entered a "dead space" in Branscomb in the hall by the housing offices, etc.

i have sprint and it works everywhere on campus

Yeah, I was curious about Sprint too. I have cricket now and I really do not want to continue the service next yr. I'm planning on switching, but I'm not sure which to. I was heavily considering Sprint because Vandy recommends it so heavily, and also b/c I heard that all incoming calls are free with Sprint? Anymore advice would be great. (Also, how are the phones? I've really liked the idea of the Envy, but any others that anyone would recommend?)

i don't know about other plans, but i definitely have to pay for incoming calls. nights (after 7) and weekends are free, though. i have the katana, and it's pretty good. i don't do much more than calling and texting, though, so if you want to browse the web or something, you might want something more top of the line.

does anyone recommend sprint? wholeheartedly

I used to have Sprint and currently have T-Mobile & both have worked fine in Nashville.
