CFA:
basketball throw: 98 ft.
pull-ups: 13
shuttle run: 7.2 sec.
situps: 83
pushups: 67
1-mile: 5:55

Fully qualified w/ nomination. Are these good results?

Ummmmm... Yea...pretty good.

This is what you would have had to do to max out on every level - so yes pretty good scores

Score BB Throw Pull-Up S. Run M. Sit-Ups Push-Ups 1-Mile Run
Male 102 feet 18 reps 7.8 sec. 95 reps 75 reps 5:20 min.
Female 66 feet 7 reps 8.6 sec. 95 reps 50 reps 6:00 min.

Hey, could someone please evaluate these:
B-ball throw: 57 ft
Pull-ups: 9
Shuttle Run: 9.4 sec
Sit-Ups:77
Push-Ups:75
Mile:8:26

I know the mile's not too good, but is it passing? I know that I can run a lot faster than that( I usually get 5:10 in track for the mile) but I was just so tired from everything else that I died on the mile.

Any advice? Please comment!

I've never seen a pass/fail minimum, but I'd re-take it, and definately try to improve on that mile, and if possible, the b-ball throw.

I got appointed to the Class of 2011 with:
B-ball Throw: 67 ft
Pull-ups: 2
Shuttle Run: 8.3 sec
Sit-Ups: 54
Push-Ups: 34
Mile: 5:00

i think your mile is failing, but i know what you mean about getting tired. i didnt think that the test would have much of a loading effect, but i ended up having to stop and throw up halfway through my mile (still ended up running a 6:30, though i can usually do 5:50 or less)

made me realize that there are 2 "shapes". long endurance, which i was already good at, and short exertions where you put everything you've got into a quick task, which i was not. pullups, sprints, situps, pushups all right in a row took more of a toll than i thought.

you should try doing the cfa events before you go on a run to work on both types of endurance. should help your mile time

I retook it today and did better. I had:
51 ft bball throw
9 pull-ups
9.1s shuttle run
86 situps
75 pushups
6:55 mile

How do you think that was? Comment back

soaringheagle -def. better. basketball throw is the only thing that looks below the average.

If you're female- aim for male standards. Remember, you need 7 pull ups for Airborne School!

Most of you guys all seem rather healthy but keep in mind that this is a small parcel of your application and your biggest concerns should be your grades and activities.

If you're getting a 300 on the regular APFT, that's an A- and you're doing fine. (375 for the A+, lol)

Focus a lot on running, you'll be doing a lot of that. Every. Day. (or so it would seem)

Why are pull-ups a prerequisite for Airborne School if they’re not on the APFT? Personally, I think they should be on the APFT just because it makes sense to test the chest AND back…

Airborne school- you're gonna need to jump up and catch a bar for some reason (so I hear anyhow!).

As for the APFT, I don't know if it's all that convenient to test or necessary. Pushups, situps and running actually does take some out of the back as is- especially if you're slamming down your situps and straining for perfect posture during your pushups (I don't think anyone wants to be accused of humping the floor or being made fun of for a protruding rear section)
