<p>Ok, I know this gets annoying, but I wanna get some opinions :P</p>

<p>"HIGHER IMPACT" EXTRA CIRRICS
1) Went to India to volunteer as a tour guide at a main attraction there. The attraction is 100 acres in size and holds a Guinness Book of World Records. I conducted several 3 hour tours a day at this place for about a month (COMMON APP ESSAY*)</p>

<p>2) Traveled to Mumbai, India to learn basics of classical music.
*Got to interact with famous musicians throughout Mumbai, and got to work in the studio as well. (UPENN OPTIONAL ESSAY, BROWN ESSAY, HARVARD ESSAY)</p>

<p>3) VERY actively involved in my church
*Self started weekly, one-hour music classes to kids for free (mainly because many cannot afford them). I teach a fusion of Indian/Western based on my experiences in both fields.
*Placed in charge of the music aspect of two important festivals, with audience attendance of 250+ (these festivals include dramas, speechs, MC, etc. etc..... I was put in charge of only music for the first one, and then assignments for EVERYTHING in the second).</p>

<p>You will get in to all of them. You never know about Princeton and Harvard though but you should get in to the rest.</p>

<p>I think your chances are very good, but who can be sure of anything this year? I've had the best qualified kids at my school get rejected ED this year so I'm really paranoid. </p>

You have a pretty solid chance at all of the universities listed.
Princeton you are a shoe-in.
Harvard.. I have no idea. I don't think anyone REALLY knows what they are looking for. You definitely have an excellent shot though. Amazing AP scores I should say.

<p>I am definitely NOT a shoe in for Princeton though..... With HYPS, you can NEVER be certain of anything ever haha. In fact, I should've just excluded those from my list. Plus, I know a 2400 SATer who is quite brilliant, AND a legacy at Princeton. If she's worried about getting in, I should be as well lol</p>

<p>As for why I call myself the "Astonisher"..... I'm a magician :p (as a hobbyist, never really "accomplished" anything per se, but that's not necessary to pursue something VERY fun and exciting). </p>

<p>I remember reading an article in the "Art of Astonishment" series by Paul Harris (anyone in magic will instantly know this series b/c some consider it a must have), and he wrote about how the magician creates astonishment in his spectators (VERY motivational I must say).</p>

<p>And that's the story behind "Astonisher" in case you were interested</p>

<p>Well that sounds like a decent story. I would have added the Magician side of you to your application. They really like to see uniqueness. Well not to familiar with magicians. Houdini is as close as I can come to magic. Haha.. I call myself runkidrun because all I do is run. That was the platform of my common application. Worked out pretty well, I think. Haha. In April we shall see...!!!

<p>Haha yea, speaking of Houdini....... I was Jean Eugene HOUDIN for this living museum thing at our school..... you'd be surprised at how many people called me Houdini, even AFTER I explained to them quite clearly (or so I thought) that Houdini NAMED himself after my guy.</p>

<p>As for putting it on my app..... I don't know..... I literally have nothing to "show" for it (in the traditional sense). It's just one of those side hobbies. I mean I can list "Enjoy magic in my free time" but that would look pretty disconnected hahaha</p>

<p>BTW, Any more comments on the actual chance thread?</p>

<p>raise your verbal to 700+, and your chances will increase exponentially</p>

<p>I'd say very likely everywhere except HP because they are soooo unpredictable. Although Brown has been quite unpredictable this year as well. But you have a much above average chance, and seem very dedicated to all that you do! </p>

Your chances are good at a lot of these places but you can forget Harvard, Princeton, and Brown PLME.
Brown and Duke may be loser schools and not take you but you are def legit for them.</p>

<p>174, I'm honored to be blessed with your presence on my thread....... Ha but do you feel the SAT CR or SAT II scores will hurt me for Harvard, Princeton, Brown PLME (two things Im most concerned about)? </p>

<p>Or just the fact that you can never really tell with these schools?</p>

<p>And.... don't worry, acceptance to any one of these would be WONDERFUL, but I am not going to become suicidal or anything if I don't get in :p</p>
