Chance for Transfer (Cornell->Columbia)

Columbia was my dream school for very long but I was unfortunately rejected ED last year but accepted to Cornell. I've done really well as of now with a 4.0 in Human Ecology but I still really want to see if I could possibly have a shot at Columbia one more time.

Stats
HS GPA: 3.75 UW
SAT: 2290 (1510/1600)
SAT IIs: 800, 750, 760, 770
First Semester College: 4.0
Second Semester so far: Really good, but not entirely sure.

Various EC's.

stat wise your solid (maybe a slightly low hs GPA and you didn’t mention any leadership in ECs), but what they’ll really focus on is your essay and reasons for wanting to transfer.

did you apply this year, or are applying next year?

I’ve already applied and I’m waiting to hear back. (Entering as a Sophomore)

You have an awesome chance! As long as you had well-written essays, you’re in!

You really think it’s that likely? It seems like people make transferring to these super competitive schools seem a lot easier if you had a 3.8+ college gpa

Anyone else?

bump :frowning: …

stop bumping your thread and worrying… you have a good chance!! all you can do now is wait. Don’t fall into the CC “chancing” because transfer admissions to a school like Columbia are a crapshoot.
