Chance for various schools

Son's college list...reaches towards the top, matches? towards the bottom.

GPA: 3.5 (with slight upward trend)
SAT: 1930 (660 CR, 620 M, 650 W)
ACT: 28 (30 English, 26 Math, 34 Reading, 23 Science)
School doesn't do class rank, but it is one of the better ones in the state.
EC's:
-2 years of cross country, 1 of track
-2 years in a sort of theoretical politics club at his school (VP this year)
-Lots of music: a string quartet that prepared and performed music one summer, lessons for piano and cello, he composes pieces (both classicalish and modern rock and whatnot), has taught himself a number of instruments.
-Took classes in Paris (for French) last summer for a few weeks
-A few other less significant clubs (Bowling Team, Philosophy Club)
-He does some creative writing, I believe he has a short story finished and is working on a play currently. Not sure if this means anything in and of itself though.
-Wrote for school's magazine for a year

Very strong letters from 2 teachers who see intellectual value in him and his essays (so far that I have seen) are very strong.

I'll edit in or post any other info that might be helpful since I may be forgetting something.
