nah i rly wanted to go to wharton but everyones telling me how my chances are slim there, which kinda brought me down, but i heard stern is rly good too and its ranked up there with wharton

AnxiousRon, thereâs alot of misinformation and confusion in this thread. Iâd wait for one of the more experienced members to come along and help you out, like Catria or Bubbles for Sale.

latitude, what type of misinformation is there? and yes, i am very confused since ppl are all saying different stuff. are you a more experienced member?

Chicago EA: you have a decent shot if your essays are stellar. I got into Chicago but itâs not my top choice, which is why Iâm still applying. Donât listen to anyone. My uncle is an admissions counselor at Columbia. I showed him your stats and this is what he said word for word: âBeing a New Yorker, you might have a difficult time being accepted into a great school than someone from Kansas. That does not mean that you wonât get in. You have great statistics and most of the schools listed will accept you. Penn is no guarantee for anyone unless you find a cure for AIDS or win an Olympic Medal. I would accept you in a hearbeat if your had stellar essays.â
See, the people giving you different opinions are wrong. Just trust me on this one. All you need to do is keep your GPA and write great essays. Then youâre set and whether or not you get into your dream school you will get into an amazing school because it helps that you ar RICH. Like I said before apply to WashU. They are not need-blind and your stats are above there requirements.

also, what is the deal with interviews? like should i do one for each school that im applying to? also, do i have to travel to that specific school campus and talk with someone from inside of the building? because if thats the case, since im applying to schools all over the country, wont that be a lot of time, effort, and money spent?

Most schools reach out to you for alumni interviews. Alumni from the school interview you in a city near you; therefore you donât need to spend much time or money. For about 90% of schools, you only get an interview if the alumni contacts you and if one is available. Some schools require you to reach out to them and then they find someone near you, and if no alumni lives in your area then you do a phone interview or skype interview. However, interviews do not really affect decisions unless you do really bad or do really well an youâre on the borderline.

is it true that uchicago is fulla nerd and like rly boring people though? âwhere fun goes to dieâ⊠like idk if i would want to spend 4 years of my life in an environment surrounded by books, tests, and assignmentsâŠ

Seems like you donât have a clear passion, based off your ECs. What do you plan to major in? Good stats, though.
