Chance me for Cornell AEM ED? Will chance back

i think you’ll get in though :)

Yeah I know. It’s just a way to preoccupy myself until decisions come around.

If you don’t mind, could you please share the decision… Thanks!

i plan on applying to aem in the future. for the essay, did you write about an experience or interests or both? thanks

Hi sorry. I only recently saw this.

@XAQXAQ As of right now, I’ve been deferred to the regular decision round. I emailed a contact that I have at the school and she said it was a very good thing that I was deferred from AEM. I don’t necessarily think that means anything super significant other than the fact that I didn’t get rejected (something I’m incredibly happy about). She told me to email her any information that may be of value. I have an additional recommendation and a Math II test (depending on the score) that I will most likely be sending their way soon. My fingers are still crossed but it took my a few weeks to get past the decision

@afroninja26 I wrote about an experience. I don’t want to divulge too much about my essays until my true final decision is known (probably bc I’m paranoid) but I made it clear that environmental economics and biological sciences have been a passion of mine since I was very young. Then I reflected back on the unique nature of the program in comparison to other business schools.

If anyone has any further comments questions, or would even like to chance me for the RD round, that’d be great.

As a question of my own, I was curious to know how much my chances have depleted now that I’m in the RD pool. I’m probably going up against a much larger number of ivy-caliber students who also did not get an ED acceptance. Does the fact that I applied ED still mean something to admissions or have I become another face in the crowd?

Just because your school sends 8 kids to cornell doesnt make it INCREDIBLY competitive. Where do you go? Just wondering. My public HS in NY sent around 20-30 kids to cornell, I think that qualifies as incredibly competitive

@superdub It’s not a competition and, by my personal opinion, 8 kids to one ivy alone makes a school extremely competitive. The last post on this thread was also a month ago. I also don’t feel comfortable sharing information that may identify myself. Sorry.

@Gatortristan It’s rude to comment on a post solely to advertise your own without contributing at least something to the thread. So, to be equally curt, no.

you have great stats but i dont know about cornell, its pretty competitive these days

@benvenuta‌ I appreciate the input but this thread was from nearly a year ago. I was given the guaranteed transfer option after being deferred (an option I plan to turn down). I currently just finished my first semester at Boston College in the Carroll School of Management and am very happy here. Again, I appreciate the input, but it’s irrelevant. Haha
