@thatdude32710- I’m not really sure of any of those schools and wouldn’t want to tell you something that may be misleading. Sorry. Good luck regardless!

I’m not too familiar with your GPA system but everything else looks great! You have great test scores and EC’s. The GPA seems really high so I think you shouldn’t have a problem.

Thanks. I’d like to relieve that too but, unfortunately, people with better stats than I are routinely wait listed and rejected from this program. The only factor that keeps me from believing I’ll be outright rejected is how well I fit the school. Supposedly, from several accounts and articles that I’ve read, fit is huge with CALS. So, hopefully, the fact that I don’t want to go just to get a job on Wall Street will be a unique and helpful factor regarding the review of my application. Thanks for commenting

More comments always welcome

I think you’re probably going to get in. You have a great app and from what I’ve heard Cornell is one of the “easier” Ivys to get into so with those two combined I think you have a good shot.

You are competitive, but Dysons is arguably the hardest program at cornell to get in. It’s a reach for pretty much everyone. You do have a chance though so good luck.

dude… im applying rd… do you have to write an essay for the agricultural school??

Yeah the essay is for the ag school. However, that wasn’t much of a problem for me since I want to do environmental economics so the fit part was pretty easy for me to write about.

Thanks for the chances. More always welcome

I would say high match. I think you’re in for sure (especially since you’re applying ED), but since it’s an ivy I’m reluctant to say low match.
Chance me back?

I mean your scores are definitely high enough and your extra currics coincide with what you plan on doing. That being said it’s an Ivy and you never know what they’re looking for. AEM is also one of the more competitive programs (from what I understand). I think you have a pretty good chance (a highish match/low reach)

Thanks a lot. I appreciate it!

Ok overall I think you have a decent shot into Cornell.
The only thing that’s surprising to me is that after reading your SAT scores and some ECs, I thought you would be more interested in medical/biological majors. Instead, BOOM, economics. I don’t know, that’s just me.

But you have decent SAT scores, a bit on the low side, but your GPA makes up for that. Sounds like your essays are going to be great so that’s no worry.

But yeah, overall decent shot at Cornell

Chance me?

.

Yeah my essays explain that a little bit. I was also supposed to do a few things over the Summer and at the end of my junior year that would have further supported my interests in economics but unfortunately, I got injured and had to designate most of my time to physical therapy. My GC explained that in his rec I think so hopefully I should still be ok in that regard. Thanks for chancing me. I’ll chance back in a couple minutes.

Further comments always welcome.

Your SAT scores and Bio SAT II are low, but besides that you look solid and well-rounded(although that could hurt you). Low reach.

Get me back:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1588791-possible-get-into-ivy-without-starting-your-own-charity-etc.html

Thanks! I chance’d you back.

My SATs are actually right around the 50% range for the program. The stats from 2 years ago said the median SAT was a 1440/1600 so, assuming some improvement in the applicant pool and a degree of unpredictability (considering the size of the program), I’d assume the median would remain a mid-high 1400 (mine is a 1460). I’m hoping my stats are just enough to get my foot in the door and my fit for the program is enough to get me the rest of the way there.

With regard to the Bio SAT II, I took that as a freshman and was still unaware, up to that point, that SAT II’s had repercussions on college admissions. I’m just hoping they’ll see it more for the fact that I took it young and had an interest in bio at that age. Beyond that, my only way that I could make up for it is by saying that I’m taking AP Bio now.

More comments welcome as always. Thanks to those that have posted so far!

why dont you just wait another 5 days? lol no use in chancing yourself for all this time when your decision has likely already been decided :P
