Again, please understand that I am fully aware of how difficult the colleges I am applying to are. I know there is very little chance to begin with. I just want to know if I am delusional. Thank you!

What college are you at? Of the schools listed, HYS are the most difficult to get transfer admission–much if this is tethered to attrition, but since attrition is under 2%–it makes for very little seats. Also how many college credits have you already earned?

@boolaHI‌ Thanks for the response. Yeah, I’m not really expecting much from HYS. I only applied because well, you never know. UPenn seems like my best shot at around 10% admission rate for transfers.

I’m at WUSTL. I’m not sure if it does, but I’m hoping the fact that I still come from a relatively prestigious school holds some merit. I will have 36 credits by the end of this semester including AP credits.

WashU is very solid. I agree that Penn affords you the best statistical opportunity. If I were you, I would see if you could make contact with someone in the CS department, in which your interested in their work–or at the very least, give the admission office a snap shot of your knowledge of the department and provide specific examples. Not sure I would go to Dartmouth over your current school, but you may have other objectives and rationale.

@boolaHI‌

Thanks man. Yeah, that’s exactly what I did in my essays, though I’m not sure what I can do from here. And you are correct, I would have to think hard about Dartmouth.

Do you think I have a shot though? And by that, I mean getting in 1-2 schools which I would be ecstatic with. Also, do you think that the admissions office considers the fact that WashU is a good school? A 4.0 here must mean a bit more than a 4.0 at a lower-ranked college or cc.

Thank you!

No doubt. My gut says you will manage two transfer admission. I have two daughters that have attended a couple of schools on the list, and I also formerly had an appointment at one of these schools–so, I know a little bit about the behind scenes process. Did you not like WashU or St. Louis–my niece is seriously considering attending.
