Applying for biochemistry major at three schools I mentioned above.
My GPA is around 3.43, and I’ll finish ALL major prerequisites (and recommended courses) by the end of the spring also will finish IGETC. (g-chem/o-chem/bio/physics/cal 1-3 series)
One year transfer student here.
Do I have any chance at all? My GPA is kind of low since I overloaded myself last semester (took almost 30 semester units)…
also don’t have much extracurricular or employment which is another downside for me…
I think the TAG threshold for UCD and UCI is around 3.4 for most majors. If you used TAG, you’d probably get into either. UCSD doesn’t participate in TAG anymore and, i think you’ll need a 3.5 or better for most programs there.
Good luck.
Because I wasn’t able to finish second semester of required English until this past winter so I can’t tag to UCD nor UCI… I applied to all these schools through regular admission. Do I have any chance at all without TAG?
You might have a chance at UCI or UCD, but UCSD seems like a stretch. Still, though, if you have a really excellent essay, that may be possible, too.
thanks for the input~ I really appreciate it.
One more question…
If I change an IGETC class (GE) to another after TAU, where do I need to report it?
UCSD doesn’t do TAG but they do U-Link which is a contract. The GPA used to be 3.0 but I heard it is higher now and it’s for first year CC students only so I highly suggest you look I to it
