You’re pretty much a lock for DGS, however the SAT score is a little low and CS is extremely competitive. I’d give a solid maybe for CS, the extracurricular activities should definitely help with that.
Out of curiosity what do students in DGS study? Is it like a continuation of high school?
You can register for whatever courses provided they aren’t major restricted by the department offering them. DGS is basically trying to transfer into a major or just taking a bunch of gen eds until you decide what you want to do.
For some reasons I get a waitlist for CS, I think it is due to bad majors selection strategy. I entered DGS as second major as many CS applicants did. Admission counselor said DGS is now “at capacity”. I am planning to appeal a new major, don’t know how much it will increase my possibility…54% of waitlist students(most of them CS I think) would get in. I estimate I will still get in UIUC at last…
What are my chances of getting into the DGS overall as a student I would say everything is mediocre. High school gpa was a 3.04 a couple of honors course included and former member of the French honors society. I’m currently at freshman at Bradley university with a 3.0 gpa involved in a variety of clubs ( black excellence club, French club, American Sign Language club, fashion and design) 22 ACT score. Essay was pretty good wrote about wanting to start my own line of hair, skin, and nail products as well as create my own art for branding and advertising.
@monenia07 Why are you looking to transfer from Bradley? My S has been offered admission there.
@cougheedog it’s a great school academically, but I want a bigger campus bradley is extremely small and I’m a pretty shy person. It’s also very hard to get around with out a car their bus service is very unreliable. There’s also not much to do in Peoria. All of my closest friends go to uiuc I wanted to apply last year but missed the deadline.
