Hooks:
Triple Legacy at Harvard (Father, Uncle, Grandfather)
Legacy at University of Miami (Mother)
Interested in Education Policy or just Political Science in general
Also possibly interested in Business

If you’re interested in education, maybe check out the Steinhardt school at NYU, it should be a low reach/match for you and would definitely align with your interests. You have some great ECs, and I have a really clear picture of the sort of person you are—if you can emphasize that in your essays it should overshadow your average test scores and GPA.

Vanderbilt: reach
Wake Forest: low reach
Harvard: reach, though legacy may help
UNC-Chapel Hill: high match
Emory: high match
Cornell: low reach
University of Miami match
Johns Hopkins high match
Wash U: match

Vanderbilt: not too familiar
Harvard: slight reach, but your triple legacy may boost your chances
UNC: match
Emory: definite match
Cornell: match/slight reach
University of Miami: match
Johns Hopkins: match
Wash U: definite match!

Good luck!!

I think I heard that Vanderbilt is known for their education programs! Your EC’s do support your chances there. I’m not too keen on the other schools, but your GPA/ low # of APs may hurt you for the higher colleges you’re aiming for. Good luck this fall! :)

Vanderbilt (Peabody) ED, Wake Forest, Harvard, UNC-Chapel Hill, Emory, Cornell, University of Miami, Johns Hopkins, and Wash U

Ok, so

UMiami- you’re in, don’t worry about that one!
JHU, WashU, Emory, Wake Forest, Cornell, Vanderbilt ED- High match

Harvard is a reach for everyone, BUT the double legacy (uncles dont count, only parents and grandparents) will come in handy. best of luck!

Chance me back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1525710-bowdoin-chances.html#post16144382

I don’t suggest washu for education(studying teaching). Peabody at Vandy is the best place to go for education but the campus was crap for me. Too many trees. UNC is prob reach if not in state. JHU is reach, emory is reach, wfu is a match.

So do you think that Vandy is a match?

Vandy- low reach
Harvard- high reach
UNCCH-match
Emory- high match/ low reach
Cornell -reach
JHU- low reach
Wash U- reach

Thank you very much!!

Any other opinions? :)

for harvard, legacy means a parent attended undergrad at harvard. not grad school, because there are too many grad school grads. you have good chances either way

Thanks all! Any more opinions?
