hi guys!! i’m currently thinking that tulane is one of my top choices, and i’m hoping to send my application in very soon as soon as i finish “why tulane” on tulane’s application option. my gpa is about a 90 (my school doesn’t do a 4.0 scale), act is 29 (retook in september and waiting for new scores), 7 APs since freshman year, captain of model un, president of china care club at my high school, volunteer for my church’s youth retreat, and work as an EMT in my town. I’ll be applying early action, and was curious how my stats match up with tulane!! if i get in, i will most likely go, but since i live in the northeast i won’t get an opportunity to visit before i make my decision. also, i hear that tulane releases their admissions decisions on a “rolling” basis, and was wondering how soon i might hear back? thank you so much, and good luck to everyone else applying!!!
Of course things are potentially different every year, but based on history you should have a pretty good shot at getting in. As far as when you will hear, generally people that get their applications in by early October hear before the end of October, if they are getting in. Those that are denied or wait listed, especially the latter, might not hear until near the Dec 15 deadline. The later into October it gets and then into November, the more likely it is you won’t hear until mid-December, maybe a few days earlier. But as you might expect, the easier the “yes” is for them to make, the more likely you hear sooner. And to be clear, when I say having your app in, that means Tulane has everything they need: test scores, transcripts, whatever. If your school is slow getting stuff to the colleges, it doesn’t matter how early you get your app in.
