I am applying early action to GA Tech and regular decision for Purdue, UMichigan, UT Austin, and Chapel Hill
I am out-of-state for all of the colleges

First, what is your uwGPA? If you are a straight A student, it should be 4.0.
Second, most schools do not superscore ACT. So, what is your best single sitting score?
Third, why would you apply RD to the schools other than GA Tech? Any particular reason?

My uwGPA is a 4.0
I have a 33 with writing. I only put that because I know that GA does, which is my top choice school.
Truth be told, I am in the notion that EA is for colleges you know you want to go to absolutely. So applying to the others in EA, I was kind of doubtful. If the chances of me getting in are decently high, I will probably do EA in more schools

Georgia Tech does something that I have not seen elsewhere…they superscore between tests…so you can turn in the math portion of the ACT and the english portion of the SAT…

Yea. It was the only place I noticed that too. However, I never took the SAT since I was more confident in my ACT abilities. But do you think it’s a fairly good chance for admission

You have a conceptual mistake. EA is not binding while ED is. You apply EA for an earlier admission result and you still can decide whether to go to that school until May 1. At least for Purdue and UMich, merit aid is only considered for EA applicants. UMich has almost no rejection but deferral from EA of not accepted. There is really no reason not to apply EA there.

I forgot to ask what is your intended major? Engineering?

I want to major in Chemical Engineering. Thanks for the advice. Once I get my GA application in, I’ll apply to purdue and Umich EA also. Relatively speaking, since grades and tests arent everything, are my chances fairly high or are colleges like Umich and chapel hill reach schools? I’m mainly worried about GA since their acceptance rate has been dropping and it is my absolute number one.

OP, you are definitely a good candidate for GTech. And the others. My D2 just started at GTech … same major ChemE. She made it to UMich and Purdue as well, did not apply to UTAustin. Good luck !
