I'm from michigan too

Well, I have friends that have been rejected with higher stats, though assuming MSU is using a holistic admissions process, I’d peg you as a low reach due to your unique background and ECs. Good luck!

I ditto Crono. Your ACT is at the lower end of their middle 50% and your GPA is a bit low (is that weighted or unweighted?). Admissions have gotten much harder lately :/.

When did you apply?

I got in with similar stats, so it is possible.

good luck

I got accepted with lower stats. 2.6gpa, and 1420 on entire sat. But my essays were heart-breaking, astounding, motivational and inspirational and I have many ec’s. Sooooo, I don’t know. It doesn’t matter about grades, it matters about who the person is and what they have to bring to the table at MSU.

Okay MiSUfashion, stop. You are an EXTREMELY rare case. Usually, someone with your stats is rejected.

I don’t have to stop anything…if you wanna be “the voice of doom” then you go ahead and do that. So what if I’m am EXTREMELY rare case, it’s not gonna change the fact that I was ACCEPTED HAHAHAHAHA!!! (all smiles)

EXACTLY. YOU were accepted. Good for you. That doesn’t mean other people who aren’t competitive applicants will be accepted. I am not “the voice of doom”, that is romani…haha. =]

Oh shushie ps :P. I even refrained myself from posting in here (to MiSU), and that is very difficult for me (as you well know).

I just can’t stand it=[

^ Can’t stand me? :(

No it doesn’t, but there’s no point in posting “Chance me” and have people ruin your self confidence. Just apply and see what happens, just like I did.

why is it hard for you to refrain?!?

But you can’t artificially get people’s hopes up only to have them crushed- that is CRUEL.

Because I’m an opinionated person and don’t shut up very easily.

I’m the same way, will not shut up for the life of me. I understand that you don’t want to get people’s hope up. But there’s a way that you can say ANYTHING that will give them hope, but yet being realistic in the process. You’ll never know what could happen unless you try, that’s all you can do.

Yes, and that’s why you encourage everyone to apply, but don’t pretend like everyone is going to get in- they’re not going to. Give them REALISTIC chances so that they are prepared.

But I never read a chance me post and said “ACCEPTED” and went on to the next. I’ve been through SOOO much that if I didn’t have hope, even when I was going through worst things that getting into a competive college, probably wouldn’t be sitting here sending you this message right now. Can’t tell you how long I prayed to get that acceptance letter in the mail. : ) And I’m also sorry again that I’ve said things that make you think im insensitive, I don’t want people on this site to think I’m a MONSTER or something. : )

It’s great that you can provide encouragement for fellow underdogs, but the chances of someone with your stats of getting into MSU are slim to none. Romani and I are just telling you that while you should be proud and excited about your acceptance, you shouldn’t post on all chance threads and spread false hope.

welllll i got deferred…does anyone know what percentage of deferred applicants end up getting in? i’m also writing admissions a letter expressing my interest

Aw, I’m sorry rasperry :(. No, there are no statistics released about defferal admissions. Writing a letter will definitely help, as it shows you are interested :). Also, how were your first semester senior grades? What is your second semester course load?
