Black Female from Pennsylvania
Taking most demanding schedule at very competitive school
GPA: 3.83 uw, 4.14 w (should improve by the end of senior year)
3rd decile- I transferred from a lousy school with no honors or AP courses, bringing down my rank, while other students had an advantage of taking them in their freshman and sophomore years
SAT: highest composite: 1960 (700M/720W/540CR)
Hard of hearing--->explains my low verbal score
SAT II: 750/610 (Will take Bio-different subject-this Jan to get 700+)
AP: 4s on USH and Psych
Awesome recommendations (shows that I am highly motivated and always improve academically)

Bad news: I think I will get B in 2 AP courses at the end of the semester.

You applied kind of late (I'm assuming you just did it), but I think you'll be in ok. GPA is in range, SATs might be just a little below average, but being a URM will help you out.

Yeah, I decided to apply just today. I am so worried that I might not get in other schools I want. And I don't want to wait for 3 months to hear decisions.

Yeah, it probably will. I applied October 23 with 4.0gpa and 33 ACT, still haven't heard back. I can't imagine you hearing back in less than 2 months.

Applying late really hurts you. You would have been a shoe-in earlier in the process. I really don't know how tought they are for late applicants though. I still think you've got a good chance.

It doesn't matter whether you are black or not. Your credentials are excellent. A 3.8 unweighed GPA with a tough course-load along with a 1420 SAT makes you a safe match. Given the fact that you are a URM practically seals the deal. You never know with Michigan, but your chances are definitely good.

Ooops, my bad...but her chances are still excellent because her GPA, course-sellection, AP performance etc... are all very good, as is her SAT Math.
