My wife had to call the office today about an unrelated matter and asked about my daughter’s status in Chancellor’s scholarship. They said she’s still being evaluated, so if you haven’t heard yet like us don’t give up hope yet! Good luck to all.
Confirming the information @chilehead posted. I received an invitation to apply in mid January that was not due until the first week of February. I called the office around 2/13 because my application was still listed as awaiting transcript & letters. I was told there was still time to submit the missing item because they were still reviewing applications/sending out invitations so I expect a few more lucky students may receive interview invitations between now and March 1st. Good luck everyone.
Anybody know when final decisions will be released? I know some people in previous years heard as early as the day after their interview. Mine was last Friday, but no news yet…
Just had mine yesterday and (of course) haven’t heard anything. Also, just to be reassuring to those who are interviewing, the interview was friendly and we discussed general topics related to my major, nothing difficult to answer. We talked about my extracurriculars. The meeting with the Dean was friendly and interesting, nothing intimidating at all. My interview at least was nothing that required any preparation, and it was a good experience. Just wanted to post that because there’s very little on this board about the process and it was nothing to stress about, at all, at least in my case.
Has anyone else heard heard about their finalist status yet? People that have already interviewed, have you received anything back from the university yet?
@Packrat5000 Did the interview, haven’t heard back.
@packrat5000 @krispy1
I had my interview on the 16th of February and haven’t heard back either
I had my interview on Monday, March 2nd and received my letter in the mail today (March 6th) that I was chosen as a recipient of the Chancellor’s scholarship. Truthfully, I’m shocked at how quickly I heard back from them, but beyond excited-- I absolutely love Pitt and am so honored to be chosen for the scholarship-- and still somewhat in disbelief. I hope everyone hears back soon!
@sar324 Congrats! Could you tell us your stats?
@sar324 Congratulations! Happy for you
Just got a letter- didn’t get the Chancellor’s. Was planning to go elsewhere anyway so no problem. It was a good experience. Good luck to the rest of you!
@sar324 - Congrats! Are you in PA or OOS?
One of our daughters got the Chancellor’s scholarship, the other did not. But she still has full tuition if she wants to go to Pitt, and plenty of other opportunities elsewhere, so not a huge disappointment for her. They interviewed on Feb 20 and received their letters on March 3rd via UPS overnight mailer.
I had my interview on Monday. I think it went pretty well. Hopefully I’ll find out pretty soon.
I still haven’t received anything in the mail, but I did receive an email guaranteeing me a place in the Honors LLC. Has anyone else received this email?
Really, I thought you had to apply to live in honors LLC?
Just received a letter today stating
that I received the Chancellor’s Scholarship!! I interviewed last week.
Very exciting news, @doc2022 !!Congratulations!
We still have not heard either way. No interview invitation and no denial either. Daughter applied for Chancellors around Thanksgiving.
@Batt01, notifications go out up til April 15th. Hope you hear something soon! My son applied around the same time as your daughter but then received a letter that he would not be interviewed. He was awarded another scholarship though so he completely understood. The waiting is so hard!
