Chances at these schools, advice?

Pardon the long post, I would really appreciate a hand.

This is my profile:
Me:
-hispanic california CC student, 21 yrs old
-3.65 GPA, likely will be a 3.7 by the time of transfer.
-Immediate past VP of PR, and Current President of Toastmasters Club
-Organize and host a motivational study skills workshop
-Internship with a small marketing company
-Unique background for personnel statement ("unique" is being humble)

These are the Schools i want to transfer into, in order of preference:
1) Georgetown, John Hopkins, North Western
2) UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Southern California
3) UC Davis, UC Irvine, Cal Poly,
4) UC Riverside, UC Santa Cruz

I would like to know what you think my chances are and any advice you can give me would be great.

Also, I have a crazy background-- Like something out of the movies almost. I am putting it into my UC personal statement but do you guys think it would be frowned upon if i put it in my 1) schools statements?

Thanks a lot, I would appreciate any feedback at all.

P.S. My major is Business at all schools that offer it and economics at schools that don’t.

And yes, I know I am no shining jewel. I would appreciate constructive criticism, regardless of how harsh, as well as chances.

I think you stand a fair chance at all the schools you have mentioned, although I think you should be aware that completing 11 applications in a successful manner will be difficult. You might want to narrow down your search to colleges that you would only consider going to if you were to be accepted. For the first tier of schools you have listed, your GPA will be on a lower-middle point. For the second tier, your GPA is more on the middle point.

Have you taken your SAT/ACT? If not, I think you should definitely consider retaking them, as it will only help your cause. Also, to be fairly honest, your EC’s look a little incoherent in my eyes: they seem a little muddled especially with the “toastmasters” club. However, I feel as though with your unique background you can possibly explain these EC’s in a way which will bring light to your application. One piece of advice I can give you is to personalize your essays as much as you can. Make it so that no student can write the same ( or similar) essay.

Can you please chance me back? Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! All the UCs are applied to with basically the same application, so i would only be applying to 5 institutions, though maybe I should cut out one. Thanks for bringing that up.

I have not taken the SAT/ACT, I didn’t plan on taking them because many Universities do not require/consider it if you are a transfer student. This is true for all the UCs and Georgetown if you have been out of HS for >5 years. But, I am considering it. Does anyone else know if it would be a good idea?

Haha-- yes I was purposefully vague as I am not comfortable posting too many personal details on forums. I will definitely keep that in mind for my essays, sounds like a great tip!

Please link me and I will chance you!

Thanks!
