@12345n‌ I’m a low match for Claremont McKenna?

@JHUSoccer That’s what I think  Some representatives came to school and they were discussing what gets you in and you seem like a good applicant.

@12345n‌ wow. Thank you for thinking that. I am talking to a current student who has connections to the admission office and the admission rep too and both conversations have been going extremely well. I’m worried about my ACT and GPA being the only reason I don’t get in.

@JHUSoccer yup  I’m just saying that even though they might be a bit low, your ECs are great, so you should have a good chance. Hope you get through

What is Wes? Are you referring to Wesleyan or are you no longer interested in that one?

@12345n‌ Also, how about Bowdoin, Bates, Oxy, Colby, Whitman, and UW-Madison?

@SamuelMedrano‌ Yes, Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. I’m still interested in that one too.

Wow your science ec’s are exactly what I’m trying to do (in my first semester of his). How did you get all those research and shadowing opportunities?

*high school not his

@TexasTeen99‌ Connections I had with certain places. I just know doctors. I can’t really help you since you’re from texas. Best advice is do NSLC to develop a passion for medicine and get connections with doctors on campus.

Wes does not really care about SAT/ACT’s but they do see them, if you send them. You have decent grades, but since you are taking majority rigor, they are going like that.

@SamuelMedrano‌ awesome. Do they care about ECs?

@JHUSoccer‌ They highly value EC’s in this school. They like people that are really into activism and other stuff. People that care about the greater good. Below is something about the academic side.

[color=grey] 'The Admission Committee will examine carefully all parts of your application to gauge your potential to contribute to Wesleyan and to benefit from the educational opportunities it offers. We are looking for genuine intellectual curiosity, the ability to succeed in a rigorous and well-rounded academic program, and concern for the larger community. Our applicants come from diverse educational backgrounds, and we will consider whether you have taken advantage of the opportunities available to you.

Wesleyan students are intellectual risk-takers–willing to go beyond their comfort zones. They push boundaries. They move comfortably among remarkably varied communities. In and out of the classroom, the Wesleyan experience is unpredictable and exhilarating. If you think that’s for you, send us your application!’

@SamuelMedrano‌ Awesome. My involvement in Chicago is extreme with hospitals and the museum. I do stuff because I care. I have never done any of my ECs to “build a resume”

Chance for University of Wisconsin-Madison:
Safety.

Your scores and grades are not going to be a “wow” advantage but they fall within range for UW Madtown

Your ECs and leadership is impressive, and your research experience as well as time dedicated to (what I assume to be) your passion in neuroscience/medicine is incredible. I’v very envious, actually.

I have high scores and grades but am kicking myself in the shin for not have taken advantage of more research and summer internship opportunities, since that makes you stand out more as an applicant than just good grades (especially for me, as an Asian :/)
But, um good work on your high school career! And I would say you have a fair chance at all of the schools you listed:)

@smallandeen‌ Thank you. My GPA has no Cs. Just As and a lot of Bs. My ACT sucks…sadly. It may stay 29 which worries me. It took me ACT books to just bring it up to a 29. I have a lot of mental anxiety issues while taking a test and my school pressures makes it hell for me. I went to a different school freshman year and it was much easier to keep good grades. Now, my school is ranked #2 in the nation and it screws me over due to all the pressure to do well.

I would say you have a good shot at all of these schools except CMC, Bowdoin, and Wesleyan. Even with an explanation for your gpa, it will still be tough to justify. CMC is mainly looking for people interested in government or business, and you don’t seem to be interested in either of those fields. The only other people they really take are recruited athletes. For the other two, they take a large majority of their classes through early decision and your gpa and act will really hurt you in the regular decision round. Unless there is some pressing reason you feel that CMC needs to be your ED1, I would just apply to Vandy or one of the other LACs ed instead.
