I’m very curious what my chances are at this school, and I’m VERY eager to hear all of your opinions.

Parents being alumni/donations to the university do NOT aid your chances in the admissions process.

Frankly, I'd say it's a pretty long shot with those test scores/GPA. I doubt there's any way you can pull up that GPA before you're done, so you really need to blow the ACT/SAT out of the water to have a fighting chance.

No one should ever laugh at anyone when they ask for "chances."

I say probably not...you really need to pull up the GPA and ACT/SAT.

You may be able to garner admission to one of OSU's satellite campuses...and if you do well your chances in Columbus would be very good.

Admission to the four Ohio State outside campuses (Lima, Mansfield, Marion, or Newark) is guaranteed for Ohio residents and pretty darn easy for others. And then if you go there for a year and do all right, you can switch to the main campus if you want.

With that GPA I think you would need an ACT or SAT in the top 1% or so for a chance to get in to the main campus in Columbus. It is pretty hard to get into Ohio State. You usually have to have a GPA over 3 with ACT/SAT scores to match.
