Chances/ Feedback on college list?

I've posted this before but I wanted to get some more feedback since I got only 2 replies previously.

I'm going to be a senior this year in the Bay Area. I wanted some feedback on my college list. Here is some info about me:

Scores:

SAT II Biology: 750
SAT II Math Level II: 790
SAT II Chemistry: 790
SAT II U.S. History: 760
SAT : 2150
ACT: 35

I don't know my AP scores yet and my school doesn't allow 9th and 10th graders to take AP classes.

All of those tests have only been taken once.

My unweighted GPA is 3.92.

My extra-curriculars:

President of UN Club at school

Member of National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, Mock Trial Club

President and Founder of a non-profit organization: WorldWeDream (Have currently 10 summer volunteers)

Captain of my Cross Country and Track Team, while on the team for all years so far

Played Soccer for 9th, and 10th grade and will play in 12th too.

Volunteered at AYSO VIP Soccer

Volunteered at about 6 or 7 other organizations that focus on helping people with disabilities

Went to COSMOS at UCSD for Bio-Engineering Summer 2011

Taking physics at a community college

Official contributor to India West and Cupertino Patch, two newspapers

Scholar Athlete for two years

Working on creating a mobile app for my non-profit

The list above are some of the things off the top of my head; I may have missed some things.

I want to double major in General Computer Engineering and Finance or Economics. If that major is not provided at that college, then I would major in General Computer Science.

List of schools I'm thinking of applying to (My order):

Stanford (Early)

Harvard

Princeton

Columbia

Cornell

Carnegie Mellon

Brown

Harvey Mudd

UC Berkeley

Johns Hopkins

UCLA

UCSD

UC Davis

UC Irvine

UC Santa Cruz

From a financial standpoint, my parents can cover my tuition. I want to be near a relatively large urban or suburban area. I am willing to go to any state for college.

Does my list of colleges look alright? Can I get some feedback on my college list? What colleges should I remove or add? Do I have good chances to get into my first two or three colleges?

All feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

Add some safeties, remove some reaches. You are a strong applicant, but you are applying to too many schools (almost all of which are extremely competitive). Really think about the schools and select the ones that are the best fit for you, not just a bunch of ivy’s. I suggest cutting the list down to maybe four reaches, two matches and two safeties.

Thank you ArtsyGirl13! I agree that 16 schools is a large number; I’m definitely not going to do that many applications. I have done research about schools that fit me and am most likely not going to apply to Harvey Mudd, Brown, and Cornell. You mentioned that I should add some safeties. What are some safeties that I could add?

Go on the super match on CC and program everything you want but with lower stats (I lowered my GPA by .35 when I did this). Find some schools you like and then compare more stats, you can also talk to your counselor (the other way I found safeties). Just make sure your safeties are schools that you would truly be happy at.

Some safeties can be state schools, or the ones you know for sure you’re going to get accepted in. Overall, you have good scores, and a good amount of EC activities. I agree with Artsy, try to cut down on that list, and try to pick an Ivy that you like the best and 2 others. Good luck :)

Thank you ArtsyGirl13 and Fantasy Vesperia! More feedback is appreciated!

I got my AP tests back. AP Biology (5), AP Computer Science A (5), APUSH (5), AP Calc BC (5).

Looks really good!! Scores, grades, ECs, all look fantastic. I agree with adding safeties, not so much with removing the reaches. Only remove the reaches that honestly, you could not see yourself at. I say you’re in at the UCs, and reasonable chances at the others. Good luck!!

Thanks guys! All feedback is appreciated!

bumpetty bump!

You have good scores and GPA, you will definitely get into at least one of the Ivie league schools. From what I see you have a great shot at all of them.

Your strength is the organisation that you founded. That’s actually quite nice and unique. Paired with your involvement with other disability-related ECs, it shows your passion. Your SAT and GPA don’t make the ivies impossible, but they are lower and slightly above average respectively compared to the other applicants.

It would be helpful if you posted class rank and senior year course rigour. And AP results should be out now so put those up too.

First four on your list are iffy; the rest seem reasonable. You seem like a match for the UCs.

Good luck!

I got my AP tests back. AP Biology (5), AP Computer Science A (5), APUSH (5), AP Calc BC (5). Senior Year: AP Stats, AP Literature, AP Chem, AP Physics, AP Econ/Gov. I’m actually submitting my ACT for my schools (which is equivalent to a 2340 on the SAT and thus slightly above average for ivies). We aren’t aware of our class rank but I know I’m in the top 2/3% of my class. Thanks!

Ah~~ I must have missed the ACT part. Then yeah, your scores and grades are nice! (^U^) Nice AP scores btw, and your choice of courses looks like you’re on the right path! I take back the iffy part; make that a good chance. (>uO)

Thanks khimeo3o! I chanced you back too!

I think you have as good chances as anyone, but HYPSM are reaches for everyone and really seem to depend on luck and essays. Just write great essays and you’ve done everything that you can possibly do :)

Thanks for chancing me and I think you look like a solid applicant for any college on your list. With great essays and recs, I think you’re in at most of the schools on your list, and you have a solid chance at HYPSM (and Columbia, Brown), but those are a stretch for just about everyone. Have fun writing essays and good luck!

You’ve got an impressive r

Others, I suggest you NOT check out world we dream. It seems to be set up so you have to keep logging on to get more hits. Not quite sure how it helps those with disabilities??

Hello Murphy600, WorldWeDream is the non profit organization I created. I don’t understand what you mean by “NOT check[ing] out world we dream.” What do you mean by “you have to keep logging on to get more hits?” If you want to find out how WorldWeDream helps people with disabilities, go to our website and check the “About Us” tab.
