I'm a white female from Northern Virginia and attend one of US New's reported top 100 high schools in the nation. I have a 3.94 weighted gpa out of 4 (excluding senior year, I got a 4.15 for first semester), six AP classes, 1310 cr and math sat (1970 total), 30 on the act. Moderate amount of extracurriculars and what I thought was a very good admissions essay... do I have any chance for an oos waiver for Clemson?

the minimum requirement for the OOS waiver is a 1370 on the CR + Math SAT so you probably don’t have a chance unless you get that score up (31 on the ACT is the other minimum score)

dammit is that really the cutoff?! i have a 1360… :(

yeah that’s the cutoff, it sucks but they gotta cut it off somewhere…

"Those who are offered an Academic Recruiting Scholarship, who are out-of-state residents may also be offered a companion Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship that covers part, or all, of the out-of-state tuition differential. The criteria to receive Academic Recruiting Scholarships vary each year, and are based on the overall competitiveness of that particular freshman class. Students who have a score of 1370 or above on the math and critical reading sections of the SAT (or 31 or above on the ACT) and who rank in the top 10 percent of their class will be given priority consideration if they apply by December 1 and complete their application by the end of December.
My son was accepted and is waiting to hear about honors. He has been initially awarded a $14,000 scholarship but no out of state waiver yet. His SATs were 1530 (2330 total) weighted GPA of 4.4. So if he gets the waiver, the $14,000 looks alot better! What are his chances, I know it says it is provisional each year depending on the applicant pool.
