Chances for CMU (PA) CS department

Hello I hear Carnegie Mellon's CompSci department is pretty damn good compared to other schools in the nation

So what does it take to get in? I'm getting mixed messages from people

Here's some of my stats ... they suck but I'm working on fixing 'em

Classes:
(11) AP Physics II, AP Calc I, AP Econ/Gov't, AP English Comp, Spanish 4 Hon
(10) AP Physics I, Hon Analysis (Precalc), Hon American Lit/History, Spanish 3 Hon, Intro to comp. programming
(9) Regular bio, regular english, regular history, intro to BASIC programming, Hon Alg II, Spanish II

GPA now ~4.2

Scores:
AP - Physics AB: 4
SAT II - Bio: 670 Physics: 690 (redoing) Math IC: 710 Math 2C: 780
SAT I - 1970 (ew) (redoing)

Thanks

You definitely need to raise that SAT. If you raise it high enough and show interest in computer science as well as apply ED, you'll probably get in.

Good luck!

PS: Take more AP's if you can.

Anyone go there? What kind of stats did u have?

Visit the CMU board and check out the people that were accepted to CS. These people did not ED though so if you ED your chances will be better.

hey, is it true that coming from a good high school helps?

I go to 'Ridge High School' in Basking Ridge, NJ and from what I hear, people consider it an excellent public school.

Thoguths?

Im tred yo my spelin is nasty sorry
