Chances for IVs awful sat good gpa

Hey!

I have 1400 SAT :( (yes out of 2400!!!!)
3.8 gpa

TOOO MANY ECS
good essay
good TE

Is there hope for me?!

I’m sorry, but with a 1400 SAT you have basically no chance. But there are TONS of colleges all over the country, not just the ivies. You’ll find at least one thats a good fit :)

If you have good and strong ecs, and a good essay you might get in, you never know.
The sat only shows how good are you at taking tests and at cracking up the test system. so good luck, apply anyway. Who knows?

^no. the low sat score calls into question the validity of gpa. I’m not even sure you’d get in as a recruited athlete, OP. Time to hit the SAT prep books real hard.
On second look, i suspect a ■■■■■. Nobody gets a 3.8 and 1400 SAT.

What is your interest in IVs?

Nope. 1400 is below average

@theRADtomato47; Nahh, it’s surely possible. Proof? My school. Lots of 3.8-4.0 GPA students but they usually get 1400-1500’s on their SAT’s. It’s an easy school, to say the least.

There is a difference between grade smart and SAT smart. My friend does well in all his classes, but just fails on the SAT IDK why he has like 1700 and a 3.9 at a pretty hard school.

Edit: OP, I’m not gonna sugar coat it, you’re gonna need to improve by atleast 600 points to even have a chance.

Not ■■■■■■■■, I was sick as hell!!! fever, runny nose, coughing etc. Can’t even remember most of the questions.
Yeah I think its possible to have a really high GPA and a low score look at me…thanks guys, so there is no chance at all? Should I write a letter explaining my health issues or something?

No, don’t write a letter. Retake the tests, and remember you also need two SAT II tests as well for the Ivies. (Basically, you want to have all the SATs/or ACT equivalent in the 700s.)

No, don’t bother.

Dude, I have a 1420 out of 1600, and yet my chances of admission to the Ivies is negligible. So yeah.

Wait- did you apply with that score, or are you a junior who can take it again?

It looked to me like you already applied, since you mentioned that your essay was good.

take the ACT. u never know what could happen
