Rice or Emory

I think it looks like I do too much but I was actually very involved in everything that I did.

For Rice, I have an interview will attend a open house in ATL and do an over-nighter

Essays
one will highlight my experience in Africa (which I think is prob the same way anyone would feel after going there, nothing too special accept the experience)

other how I have over come all the trouble and turmoil in my life and not let that stop me

So any chance???

Get those SAT scores up and you'll have a fair shot at both, but as of now they're probably reaches.

bump, any one else

not to be rude or anything, but u overcame rape?

well obviously it still haunts me but yes, when I was 7, my mother's bf tried to place his ding dong in a place it doesnt belong. Subsequently, an investigation was launched determining that my mother was unfit (which she was) and was went to live with grandma. For a while, especially during early puberty I hated everyone and then I just kind of realized that everything happens for a reason and that I can help someone grow and become stronger like my g-ma helped me.

so... I have sorta dedicated my life to helping those who are downtrodden and when I preach, it's usually a msg of empowering the believer and canceling the assignments of satan

no one else has any input??

just get those scores up man. And apply as early as possible...maybe even take a risk without better SAT scores with rice and apply early.

I think it's too late to apply early. My counselor are slow at my school (3000 kids) and wouldnt be able to get it in time. Also I really want to show interest. I'm going to an open house in my city, I scheduled and interview and hopefully will be able to stay over night from Thurs to Sat.

alright....think about Vanderbilt too. maybe if you like rice and emory, you'll love vanderbilt. they are looking for diversity to, and they'll really take notice to the "unfortunate event that happened when you were seven"

yeah I was thinking about there. For some reason, I'm almost positive that I'll get in there and I'm really not worried. It's like by back-up reach lol. But yeah, I'm applying there also.

any others??

so no one else has any thoughts?
