Chances For UC Davis based off GPA and ECs?

Just entered my Junior Year, haven’t taken my SAT yet but was just wondering if it was worth considering Davis as an option based off my GPA and EC.
In State
Major: Biology
W GPA: 4.42
UW GPA: 3.88
ECs: Volunteering (Animal Shelter), CSF, Part Time Job
Honors/APs: 6 APs, 6 Honors

Yes definitely. How many hours have you volunteered? If it’s a high value then it shows UC that you’re doing stuff with you life and giving back. You have a good shot at Davis. Assuming your SAT is somewhat similar

@mellamousted Thanks for the response! I just started volunteering back around July so I’ve only amassed around 20 hours but I’m hoping to cross 150 hours minimum before the end of this school year, and another 200 hours during senior year.

You are on the right track. Keep up with your good work. Here is UCD’s Freshman profile for 2017. You want to be in the 50th percentile or higher for the best chances:

Also make sure you calculate your capped weighted UC GPA at the end of Junior year. https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

All the UC website Freshman profiles use the capped weighted UC GPA.

Also make sure your Honors courses taken in 10-11th grades are UC approved for the additional Honors points. You can look up your HS’s approved Honors course list here:

https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist#/list/search/institution

The capped weighted UC GPA is capped at 8 semesters of UC approved Honors, AP, IB or DE courses taken 10-11th grades. Only in-state CA applicants will get the honors points for approved Honors courses. OOS applicants can only use AP, IB or DE courses for the extra Honors points in the calculation.
