Am I a likely candidate?

You are full pay at a UC, you are OK with that $66K a year? What major?

You look like a well qualified and competitive applicant. UCSB puts a large emphasis on EC’s and essays. Make sure you spend time on your personal insight essays and you will have a solid chance for an acceptance especially as a full pay OOS applicant.

Best of luck.

thank you so much, i’m nervous about my personal insight essays because I’m not always confident in my writing but I’m planning on working on them regularly with my ap lit teacher to make sure they are good. again, ty for the input

What’s your intended major???

political science with a minor in educational studies

Your chances are good IMO

The acceptance rate for OOS is almost 50%, and your stats and everything else are very good. Assuming you are full pay, chances are very good. My D accepted but decided not to go, stats lower than yours, good enough for next tier big schools, not enough for UCLA. The acceptance rate for OOS is very high because the yield is very low (<10%), probably because very few can afford it.
