Chances of Admisson/Merit Aid?

Hi, I'm going to be a senior this year and was wondering if I would be able to get some merit money at Northeastern University.

White Male

Academics:
-3.99 uw GPA
-Ranked 2/585
-ACT: 34 E:32 M:34 R:33 S:36 W:11

ECs:
-Varsity Cross Country Captain, MVP, All-Conference, Rookie of the Year, Academic All-State
-Varsity Basketball Captain
-Varsity Track Captain, MVP, All-Conference, Academic All-State
-NHS President
-FCA Leadership position
-Member of school's wind ensemble
-Member of top Jazz Band
-Started my own community service club
-Work on the weekends for a DJ company
-This summer I'm involved in a junior medical program through the University of Minnesota that accounts for over 100 hospital volunteer hours

What are my chances?

Did you take any APs or honors? The ACT looks great.

Yup! 2 AP’s sophomore year, 3 AP’s junior year, 4 scheduled for next year!

Yeah you’re definitely fine. Make sure to demonstrate interest in your essays. Also take some subject tests if you can. Good luck!

You’ll definitely get in, probably honors, and probably with pretty good merit aid. Any chance you might be getting national merit? If you have some way to really make yourself jump out of the crowd of really good stats, you might stand a chance at university scholars.

Unfortunately I don’t have any crazy ‘hook’ that really makes me stand out… My best chance at being unique is that you don’t see a lot of 3 sport captains with my grades and ACT score but that really just constitutes as good stats /:

Don’t count yourself out. That’s an impressive combination that requires a lot of hard work and dedication in multiple areas. Play that up and point it out.
I know what you mean, though, about not having the “hooks,” coming from a middle class midwestern family and just doing well with the opportunities that were available where I lived.
