<p>I'm not sure if you are familiar with the automatic acceptance A&M offers (posted directly above your post), but the acceptance rate is biased to all of those who automatically receive admission. TU's is also high for similar auto-admit rules. You don't sound like you know too much about A&M from your post, as I have had friends with similar stats to the OPs who havn't got in.</p>
<p>To be honest, if blockbuster were white, I think he'd be iffy for getting in. But he is a black muslim at a time when the university is bending over backwards to increase diversity.</p>
<p>I don't know if you'd be interested in this, blockbuster, but another surefire way of increasing your chances is to make a commitment to joining the Corps of Cadets. Supposedly, the Commandant of the Corps has a lot of pull with admissions. Here is a video you can watch about the Corps:
