I’d say Fordham is a match for you, although NYU is a low reach. If you haven’t already submitted your application, I suggest you spend extra time writing stellar essays and getting exceptional recommendations… those may help cushion your lowish SAT score. Best of luck on your college journey!

If your high school has Naviance or other such program, take a look as to how students with your profile fared with NYU. At my son’s school, you would not have a good chance at NYU unless your Math and CR scores are much higher than your CR. I saw their clusters of “accepts” to NYU with grades like yours, and higher test scores than a 1300 for the two part SAT 1 were needed. If you have some other hook, such as being a recruited athlete, URM status, First generation ,geographics (which your name seems to exclude), your chances would be better.

You are match for Fordham. But females have it a bit tougher so it is not a shoo in. I was surprised at some of the kids not accepted there the year before last.

Thank you all for replying! To answer your questions, my math SAT score is awful. The breakdown is 670W, 580M, 660CR. I was wondering if I plan to major in journalism/english, will they weigh my math SAT as heavily?
