Berk/Cornell: Low Reach
UCLA: high match
all the rest: match or safety.
Agreed with above on Berkeley/Cornell and UCLA but you guys don’t realize how good Cal poly engineering is. Just because it isn’t as nationally known as the UC’s, it doesn’t mean it’s not good. Cal Poly engineering wouldn’t be a safety for anyone. Acceptance rate is about 20 percent. It’s a match for you. Why would you think it’s a safety?
UCB: Low Reach
UCLA: High Match
UCSD/SLO/UCSB: Match
UCI: Low Match
SDSU/UCSC: Safety
Cornell?
I agree that SLO and many of the UC’s are not safeties especially for Engineering.
Good Luck.
@billcsho my Uc gpa is 4.31
@iamjack @Gumbymom Thanks for the feedback. Would you mind explaining the high match/low reach thing? Sorry, I’m new on here and not really familiar with those terms.
high match is basically means your chance of getting into a schools is a bit lower than a match but not low enough as to where it can be a low reach or reach. low reach means your chance of getting into a school is a bit higher than a reach but not much higher as to being a high match or match… its basically like an “in-between” term.
@MegaMetalHead I said the rest are matches/safety… I didnt call SLO a safety. I know SLO is a good school; it’s where I initially SIR’ed to (until I got off the waitlist at davis). I didn’t specifically list out which were matches and safeties because I think he knows which schools are his safeties and which are matches… plus I think he’ll prolly get into his matches anyway.
