chances of transfering?

highschool had like a 3.4 1200 sat etc all that stuff

college first semester 3.52 made dean's list, 2nd semester is happening right now
im applying to
top4 are instate
James Madison
Virginia Tech
UVA
Willaim/marry
Texas

considering
UCLA
USC
Miami

does making the Dean's List have any greater impact than like if i got a 3.49 (3.5 is the dean's list)

It's more of a "feather in your cap" type of thing. Having a lower GPA in harder coursework is, in my opinion, much more to your advantage. However, if you can keep the GPA above 3.5, I'd say you have a good shot at all the in-state schools, and perhaps USC/Miami.

I can almost guarantee that Texas and UCLA are out-of-reach. These schools admit very few OOS students, so you'd probably need above their avg. GPA, which happens to be about 3.6 for both.

alright thanks
anyone else?

whered you go?

Look into UNC-CH. Its MUCH easier to get into as a transfer than out-of-state first year, and its an amazing school socially even more fun than UVA (I've spent a lit of time at both).

"whered you go?"
smaller school in virginia.. christopher newport

any other opinions?

Univ. of Maryland would let you in. Its better than JMU and VT academically also

cnu 3.52 probably would get into jmu and vt and md
