<p>Chances at EA and RD?</p>
<p>despite the bad grades in 9th and 10th grade, you seem to have really improved and your SAT is great. I think you have a decent shot at admittance, and could easily go either way (if i were to bet on it I’d say you’d get in)</p>
<p>I would agree with Nyorker, but it would be helpful if you could specify under extra curricular activities whether or not you have any leadership positions in the clubs that you participate in. </p>
<p>I think your application will really depend on how well known your high school is and how many others apply for EA next year.</p>
<p>Our school is very well known in both academics and athletics, I visited from class tours that the guidance department takes us on twice already. A lot of Villanova alumni teach at our school.</p>
<p>and The only extra curricular i’ve held a leadership position in is the Literary magazine staff.</p>
<p>The cold hard reality of it is, Nova’s admissions, like those of every other school, are kind of a crapshoot. I’d say you have a decent shot, but I speak from experience when I say there is no ‘clear cut’ formula… I’ve talked to so many kids on this site who were deferred to RD this year after applying EA, and they had heavier class loads and higher test scores than I did, and I got accepted EA. </p>
<p>Your stats look good, and I would say apply, but remember to present yourself as something a little different than every other applicant they’ll see… I think that’s what got me admitted. Your grades and transcript show you’re smart, but make sure they know you’re smart AND other things.</p>

<p>I noticed Villanova’s acceptance rate for the incoming class went up nearly 7%… less applicants maybe?</p>
<p>I don’t think so… my EA admission letter this year said that they had the highest number in the university’s history, and actually accepted less. Not sure where you heard that stat, but I’m going off what my admission letter said. Although, they may have been trying to make me feel special for getting in.</p>

<p>@TGrace, the acceptance rate for each college is listed on CollegeBoard.com. it used to say 39%, now it says 46%.</p>
<p>Also; potential NHS candidates were announced last week. The list consists of 60 juniors out of 210. I wasn’t listed, which means im not in the top 30%, how much does this affect me?</p>
<p>However, the list only accounted for Freshman and Sophomore years, not junior year. If it did include Junior year I may have been on it, because the list did contain a few students who had 3.8 weighted GPAs.</p>
